STOP the Spread of COVID-19
3/22/2020
To our Valued Patients and Families,
During these unprecedented times, our daily efforts and thoughts are focused on each one of you and your families. As it has always been, and always will be, your health and well-being at Core Spine & Wellness is our top priority!
In response to the coronavirus pandemic, we are closely following and adhering to precautions advised by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), World Health Organization (WHO), Association of New Jersey Chiropractors (ANJC), American Physical Therapy Association (APTA), New Jersey Association of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NJAAOM), and New Jersey Department of Public Health (MDPH). We want to assure you that we are taking continuous steps to ensure that our office remains a safe place for every patient.
We felt it was important for you to know that we are trained in infection control. For instance, our staff is trained to prevent the spread of infectious diseases such as flu, HIV, hepatitis, and tuberculosis. We are confident that the precautions we take every day will also help prevent the spread of the coronavirus.
We have always practiced by very strict precautions developed by the CDC and OSHA to protect both health care personnel and our patients. You may not realize the things we do every day for our patient’s and our team’s protection against diseases and viruses.
1. We sterilize all electrical equipment after each use! Each electrical stim pad that you see in the office is specific to the patient it was opened for.
2. We clean each patient table thoroughly after each patient visit with medical grade cleaners and disinfectants that are known to kill all infectious diseases, including coronavirus!
3. Therapy equipment and tables are disinfected and sterilized between patients.
4. Table paper and single use disposable materials also help to insure and maintain a safe environment for our patients.
5. Hand hygiene is of the utmost importance in our office and thorough hand washing or hand sanitizer is always used between each patient and upon entering/leaving the room.
6. Routine, on-going training for our staff to maintain proficiency in these procedures.
Additional measures we will be implementing include:
1. Disinfecting the office several times a day which includes the reception room, all door handles, knobs, faucets, chairs, and tables. We have removed all magazines and other hard to sterilize items from the reception room.
2. We will be asking both patients and staff multiple screening questions both over the phone and when they enter the office.
3. We will be asking everyone to apply hand sanitizer upon entering the office.
4. Pens used for office paperwork will be disinfected after each use.
Please do not bring family members who have had symptoms within the last week of their scheduled appointment.
At this time, our office remains open to care for our patients following the above guidelines. This will be assessed daily as more information is provided.
Please remain home and reschedule your appointment if:
1. If you have a fever greater than 100 degrees.
2. If you are exhibiting symptoms of ANY respiratory illness (coughing, sneezing, active nasal discharge)
3. If you are experiencing any shortness of breath, dizziness, or sluggish episodes.
(Please contact your primary care physician if you are experiencing any of the above)
4. If you have had known contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19 within the last 21 days.
We are also requesting that visits to our office are limited to only those who have an appointment or patients that need to be accompanied by a guardian.
If you would like to reschedule an upcoming appointment or talk through any concerns, please feel free to contact our office at 732-253-5450. During this community concern, we will be waving any customary fees related to last minute cancellations or changes.
Individuals that would like to check-in from their cars upon arrival are welcome to do so by calling 732-253-5450. We will call you on your cell phone when your table is available, thus bypassing any waiting areas.
We want you to know that you can schedule your appointments with confidence, knowing that we are doing everything possible to keep you and your loved ones safe and protected at our office. We will continue to employ procedures to minimize the spread of Covid-19 according to the CDC and other credible authorities and will keep you informed of any changes in our protocols. If you have any questions please contact us.
Remember, the best way to protect yourself and your community is with everyday preventative actions, like washing hands often, keeping your hands away from your face, and disinfecting surfaces regularly.
Be safe! Wash your hands often!
All the best,
Dr. Frank Spano
